Students design UAV to target undersea threats

The proliferation of advanced submarines and maritime surface surveillance challenges Western deterrence to sustain peace, especially in the Indo-Pacific [1, 2]. Researchers and students from UNSW Canberra have conceptually designed a recoverable sonobuoy hybrid UAV for continuous use from the maritime patrol P-8 aircraft when fleet screening for undersea threats.
