The recent removal of Captain Brett Crozier from the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt over his efforts to get greater action on behalf of his crew leads one to recall a not dissimilar episode in the RAN.
In March 1942 the battle-scarred corvettes Toowoomba and Goulburn finally arrived in Fremantle. Since —- they had endured numerous Japanese air attacks as they escorted merchantmen in the waters around Singapore and the Dutch East Indies.
