Lt-Cdr Konstanty Okolow-Zubkowski was a decorated naval officer who took part in the hunt for the German battleship Bismarck and later represented all Polish war veterans in Britain.

On the morning of May 27, 1941, as midshipman Konstanty Okolow- Zubkowski spotted shells falling near Bismarck from the observation tower of HMS King George V, he took, almost by chance, a rare photograph of the great naval clash that ended with the sinking of the German battleship hours later, The Times, London, writes.
