IN THIS centennial year of the Battle of Jutland (31 May – 01 June 2016) a book authored by Admiral Sir John Jellicoe’s (Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Navy Grand Fleet) grandson is timely to add to the voluminous bibliography of this titanic engagement between the Grand Fleet (GF) and the German High Seas Fleet (HSF). It was the only fleet action of the First World War and arguably the first and last between massed dreadnought battle fleets.
