2021 has been a year of challenges for many Australians, and our Defence personnel have not been immune to this experience. Home, work and life have been significantly different. Many have been concerned for the health, wellbeing and safety of loved ones. Some have felt isolated from their neighbours, colleagues and community, and others have experienced tidal waves of stress, hopefulness and change. R U OK Day (09 Sep 21) and World Suicide Prevention Day (10 Sep 21) are further reminders of the importance of human connection in managing and overcoming life’s challenges.
