On 27 April 2023 Exercise Bersama Shield 2023 commenced in seas and airspace in and off Malaysia. The Five Power Defence Arrangements (FPDA), exercise will conclude on 12 May.
The exercise involved four warships, maritime helicopters, two maritime surveillance aircraft, seven support aircraft, twenty fighter aircraft and two Ground Based Air Defence units as well as members of the three service branches of the Armed Forces of the FPDA countries.
