The UK has unveiled its new Multi-Role Ocean Surveillance vessel, RFA Proteus, during a visit by senior NATO leaders to Faslane, home of the UK’s nuclear deterrence force, UK Defence Journal reports.

Taking its name from Greek mythology, Proteus is the god of rivers and bodies of water, son of Poseidon and often referred to as the ‘old man of the sea.’
