It was with great sadness to learn of the cancellation and replacement of one of Australia’s major defence contracts this week for the construction and purchase of a new fleet of submarines welloverdue, important assets for the Royal Australian Navy, a contract awarded to France’s contender Naval Group in April 2016., under former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull.
