On 31 August the US Congressional Research Service released a 54 page report on the US Navy’s Force Structure and Shipbuilding Plans.
The report covers the current and planned size and composition of the US Navy, its annual rate of ship procurement, the prospective affordability, shipbuilding plans, the capacity of the US shipbuilding industry to execute the US Navy’s shipbuilding plans, and Navy proposals for retiring existing ships.
