Podcast: Dramatic 1998 Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race rescue


One of the finest Australian Naval History podcast episodes yet produced is released on 21 December. It describes the  dramatic 1998 Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race Rescue which involved HMAS Newcastle and Fleet Air Arm helicopters.

Taking part in the episode are some of the Sea King and Seahawk aircrew who took part and John ‘Steamer’ Stanley, a crew member of the ill-fated Winston Churchill. The podcast is available on most podcast apps or on the Naval Studies Group website. Not to be missed.
