On 6 March 2024 INS Jatayu was commissioned at Minicoy Island, Lakshadweep in presence of Admiral R Hari Kumar, the Chief of Naval Staff, the Hon. Administrator of Lakshadweep, Shri Praful K Patel, Vice Admiral V Srinivas, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command.
