The Tanker War 1984 – 1988

As the ADF prepares to deploy Navy and Air Force elements to the Persian Gulf to join a US led Coalition escorting Tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, it is timely to review an earlier period in history when merchant ships were being escorted through the Strait and across the Persian Gulf.
