Explaining Boeing’s 737 MAX agony

Boeing’s agony over the latest version of its 737 airliner may have implications for current and planned unmanned ships and aircraft.  The 737 MAX has a fly-by-wire system – as do virtually all other current airplanes. That is, the airplane is flown by a computer, which interprets pilot commands when the pilot moves the controls.
