Exercise Alon 25 commenced on 15 August at locations around the islands of Palawan and Luzon in the Philippines. It is the largest overseas joint force projection activity that Australia has conducted in Indo-Pacific region in recent history. Besides the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Australian Defence Force (ADF), it involves units from the Canadian and US defence forces. A total of over 3,600 personnel are participating in Exercise Alon 25.
