Threats: we must not avoid the ‘China’ word

Writing in The Australian Financial Review on 5 February (republished with permission by ANI), my former ASPI colleague, Jennifer Parker, put an excellent argument for granting more leeway to serving Defence personnel to speak out on defence affairs, raising public understanding of threats, and building the social licence for increased defence spending. However, one essential word was missing from Jen’s argument: ‘China’.
