US Navy opposed to ship-launched N-weapons

The U.S. Navy remains opposed to buying ship-launched nuclear weapons, even though some in the Pentagon have pushed back, Defense News reports.

Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Gilday told House and Senate lawmakers (May 2022) forcing surface ships or attack submarines to haul around nuclear-tipped missiles would be feasible but a burden as they have more pressing missions.
