A newly deployed satellite has created the most-detailed map yet of the ocean floor, finding hundreds of hills and underwater volcanoes that were previously missed, space.com reports. In its first year of operation, the SWOT satellite captured more details of the sea floor than in 30 years of data collected by older satellites.
