On 24 March Singapore’s Chief of Navy, Rear Admiral Aaron Beng will, on promotion, become the country’s next Chief of Defence Force. He will take over from Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong. The 41 year old Admiral Beng will be the first naval officer to assume that post.
