The role of the Russian Navy in the invasion of Ukraine has started to emerge. The Navy appears to have four missions:
- Supporting the land campaign from the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov,
- Countering the much smaller Ukrainian Navy;
- Sealing all shipping movement into and out of the Sea of Asov; and
- Shadowing NATO Forces in the Mediterranean Sea.
