The first of the Alexandrit class MCM vessels to be laid down, the Georgy Kurbatrov arrived in the Black Sea Fleet’s main base of Sevastopol on 12 January. Construction of the 890 tonne Project 12700 class ship commenced in 2015 but was much delayed by a serious fire in her construction.
