The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL)and the Russian Navy will stage the naval exercise the Latma Orruda 2024 in the Surabaya area on 4-8 November. Latma Orruda 2024 will be the first joint exercise between the Indonesian and Russian navies. It is the result of an agreement at their first Navy to Navy Talks meeting held in 2018. The name Orruda is a combination of the national symbols of the two countries, namely Orel (Russian Eagle) and Garuda (Indonesia).
