On 19 May Professor William Maley delivered an outstanding Vernon Parker Oration at the Australian Naval Institute’s annual dinner at Hotel Realm in Canberra. Before a capacity audience the Emeritus Professor, in his oration entitled A time out of joint? Reflections on some key trends in international relations, gave a wide ranging and engrossing address.
It covered not only the tragic events in the Ukraine, but also he cast his critical eye over developments and security prospects in the Indo-Pacific region. Professor Maley’s Vernon Parker Oration will be published in the next edition of the Australian Naval Review and in time on the ANI website at
