A flotilla of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy led by a Type 055 10,000 ton-class large destroyer has carried out a combat-oriented exercise in the South China Sea amid rising tensions in the region stirred up by the US, the Chinese Government-owned Global Times reports.
