Operation Sea Spirit

Operation Sea Spirit by Pakistan-led CTF 151 commenced on 21 April. The operation’s aim is to combat maritime piracy and armed robbery off the Somali coast, Gulf of Aden and Socotra Gap.

Joint operational activities involving counter-piracy exercises and patrols by naval assets to include Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force, Pakistan Navy, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, Republic of Korea Navy, EUNAVFOR Ops Atalanta, Djibouti Navy, Djibouti Coast Guard, and Türkiye Naval Forces.

Supported by maritime patrol aircraft and helicopters from Regional Coordination Centres (CMF JMIC, JMICC Pakistan, DCOC Kenya, RCOC Seychelles and partners (Ambrey GOC), RMIFC Madagascar, UK MTO Dubai) are amplifying efforts, sharing real-time updates with the maritime community. Maritime Security Centre Oman and Maritime Security Center Indian Ocean are also supporting by exchanging vital information with the stakeholders.
