Before the release (24 April 2023) of the government’s defence strategic review, Defence Minister Richard Marles said it would be the most important examination of Australia’s defence capabilities since the 1986 “Dibb Report” authored by Professor Paul Dibb.
As such, direct comparisons of the two documents were already being made before today’s release.
