On 14 November it was announced that the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN) Chief of Navy Rear Admiral Garin Golding has received the interim Court of Inquiry report into the sinking of HMNZS Manawanui. The ship ran aground with 75 people on board in Samoa whilst conducting a hydrographic survey of a reef on Saturday 5 October. The ship sank the following day.
