On 31 July 2023 as part of Joint Exercise Latgab 23, warships of the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) conducted successful surface-to-surface missile firings at the decommissioned Van Speijk-class frigate, ex-KRI Slamet Riyadi. The TNI-AL ships fired four missiles. The missiles fired were the French Exocet MM40 Block III and the Chinese C-704 and C-802. Afterwards Air Force F-16s engaged the Slamet Riyardi.
