India’s new carrier Vikrant’s sea trials

On 4 August India’s locally designed and built aircraft carrier Vikrant commenced sea trials. Designed by the Indian Navy’s Directorate of Naval Design she was built at the Cochin Shipyard. Vikrant was laid down in 2011 and launched two years later and has more than 76% indigenous content.
