The HMAS Perth I Memorial was dedicated on 1 March 2025 by His Excellency the Honourable Chris Dawson AC APM, Governor of Western Australia.
It is a tribute to the courage and sacrifice of the crew who served aboard this historic warship. The dedication of this memorial is a momentous occasion, ensuring that their legacy is preserved for generations to come.
The designers of the memorial said: “It has been a privilege to bring this vision to life — a place of remembrance that reflects the bravery, resilience, and spirit of those who sailed, fought and died during and after The Battle of the Sunda Strait WWII.
