Exercise Griffin 2025

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the US Navy concluded the fifth edition of bilateral Exercise Pacific Griffin, held in Guam and its surrounding waters from 7 to 18 June 2025.

This year’s exercise saw the participation of Singapore’s Formidable class frigate RSS Supreme, with an embarked S-70B Seahawk helicopter, Independence class littoral mission vessel RSS Sovereignty, and divers from the Naval Diving Unit (NDU). In addition the Republic of Singapore Air Force’s two Fokker 50 Maritime Patrol Aircraft and six F-16 fighter aircraft also participated in the exercise.

The US Navy participated with the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS William P. Lawrence, T-AKE oiler USNS Charles Drew, a P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, as well as naval divers.

The RSN stated that Exercise Griffin 2025 “provided opportunities to enhance cooperation and mutual understanding between the two militaries, and deepened professional ties between our people.”
