The Defence Strategic Review 2023 emphasises the importance of protecting our connection to the world and the centrality of the US to our security. It also states that for the first time in 80 years we must go back to fundamentals, to take a first-principles approach as to how we manage and seek to avoid the highest level of strategic risk. This all boded well for a punchy and reformist report.
