L&T Shipbuilding has plans for its Kattupalli Shipyard, just 30 kilometres from Chennai, which could well see the shipyard become a major naval production hub in the private sector, according to the company’s managing director and CEO, Vice Admiral (Retd) B Kannan. He said the company has already decided that the yard will be dedicated to defence contracts.
