The first Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) joint military exercise, called ASEAN Solidarity Exercise 2023 (ASEX 2023) was conducted during 19-23 September in the South Natuna Sea. The exercise was proposed a meeting of ASEAN Defence Ministers by the Indonesian Defence Minister, Prabowo Subianto.
