To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Sri Lanka Navy, an International Fleet Review was held in Colombo from 27 to 29 November 2025. The most significant ships present were India’s new aircraft carrier INS Vikrant on her first overseas deployment.
In company with her was the new frigate INS Udaygiri, also on her maiden overseas deployment. Besides taking part in the review events the Vikrant off-loaded 4.5 tons of dry rations, 2 tons of fresh rations, and other essential relief items for the victims of the recent Cyclone Ditwah.
Also present at the review were the Russian Pacific Fleet corvette Gremyashchiy, the Bangladesh Navy’s corvette BNS Prottoy and the Maldives National Defence Force Coast Guard Ship Huravee.
