Prime Minister Tours USS Hawaii
On 2 September Prime Minister Anthony Albanese toured the nuclear-powered submarine USS Hawaii (SSN 776) during its submarine tendered maintenance period (STMP) at HMAS Stirling. He was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister, Richard Marles, Chief of Navy, Vice Admiral Mark Hammond and the Director-General Australian Submarine Agency, Vice Admiral Jonathan Mead. Also attending was the Acting Under Secretary of the Navy Tom Mancinelli, who travelled to Australia to observe the AUKUS STMP and affirm and advance the alliance between Australia and the United States.
