New Zealand Opposes China’s Assertiveness but Remains Sceptical about AUKUS

Despite claims that the strategic alliance between Australia, the UK and the US, known as AUKUS, has marginalised New Zealand,[1] it is perhaps more accurate to say AUKUS highlights Australia’s increasingly close alignment with the US on China, and New Zealand’s relative distance from the worldview shared by these allies.[2]
