On 7 October Exercise Phantom Scope, took place in international waters off the Bahraini coast with forces from US 5th Fleet and the Royal Navy. Three Saildrone Explorer unmanned surface vessels (USVs) participated alongside the guided-missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black, fast response cutter USCGC Robert Goldman and the mine countermeasures vessels HMS Chiddingfold and HMS Bangor.
