Indian Navy’s first all-woman aircrew

On 3 August five aircrew officers of the Indian Navy’s INAS 314 based at Naval Air Enclave, Porbandar, completed the first all-women maritime reconnaissance and surveillance sortie. It was in the North Arabian Sea onboard a Dornier 228 aircraft. The Indian Navy is seen as the front-runner in driving greater employment of women in the Indian Armed Forces.
