Two French Navy (Marine Nationale) surface warships have berthed in North Queensland this week, as part of a five-month deployment which will circumnavigate the globe, Australian Defence Magazine reports.
The warships, the 21,000 tonne Mistral-class LHD FNS Dixmunde (L9015) and the 3,700 tonne La Fayette-class frigate FNS La Fayette (F710), are part of Mission Jeanne D’Arc and sailed from the French Navy’s Mediterranean base in Toulon in February.
