BRITISH Prime Minister David Cameron announced just prior to Christmas his government had resolved to revive the fortunes of the nation’s armed forces by funding a major reconfiguration to enable the military to deal with more modern and evolving threats that necessarily need to be engaged far beyond the UK’s shores, as a means to preventing them consolidating into direct national security threats at home.
