Russian Black Sea chief named

On 10 August Vice-Admiral Viktor Sokolov was appointed the Acting Commander of the Russian Black Sea Fleet. He replaced Admiral Igor Osipov, who had been removed from the post earlier in the month. This follows a series of reverses for the Black Sea Fleet including the sinking of its flagship Moskva by the Ukrainian Navy.
